Click on the title of this post to access a quiz that will test your knowledge of religion. Once you complete the quiz, compare your results with a random sample of Americans and discuss what you find out. Please complete this posting by Tuesday, Nov. 9.
My score was 12 out of 15. What suprised me the most was that I had a higher score than 87% of the public. It shows that the Religion knowledge in the world is slowly decreasing as time goes on. Soon no one will know anything about religions. Another thing that suprised me was I compared my results to post-graduate students I had a higher score than the average. You would think that having to take religious classes to graduate would have helped. Guess not.
My score was 9 out of 15. I am surprised that I scored better than 62% percent of the public because I honestly don't keep track of the different religions. I was raised as a Catholic, yet I got the Catholic question wrong... this surprised me as well. The statistics that make sense to me are the ones that say I scored less than every type of college student, but more than high school students. I think I know a little more than high school students because I learned about many religions in my world history class.
I got 12 questions right out of 15. I got the Christianity questions right because my family and I are a bunch of Catholics. I scored higher than 87% of people? That surprised me. The test site also says that mostly men do better on this test than women. Maybe that's because a bunch of Priests took this test. It seems that as people get higher education the scores indicate they know more about religion. That should be true for us after we graduate from Madonna since we have to take a religious study class.
My score was 10 out of 15. I was surprised that I had a high score and that is was 73% higher than the public. I feel like this shows that there are many religions and possibly that a lot of people have little knowledge about this subject. I was surprised with my score because I don't view myself as very knowledgeable when it comes to religion.
My score was 9 out of 15. This score really did surprise me because I didn't think I knew much of anything about other religions. I was raised Catholic, and despite that, I did get a few of the Catholic questions wrong. Others I guessed on and turned out to be right. But, this is a very good religion quiz because it shows us how little(or how much) knowledge we have of other religions.
My score was 9 out of 15. I am surprised that I score higher than 62 percent of the public because I have never been to church a day in my life. I only knew some of these answers from 11th grade history class in which we learned about the different religions through history. I thought a lot more people would know more about religion because most people I know are pretty religious.
My score was a 7 out of 15. I scored higher than 47% of the public. I was very shocked by my results, considering I went to a Catholic grade school and high school. I studied religion every year and even looked into the different kinds of religions in high school. I thought that I was well educated in religion, but apparently I only know the basics. I do not think that this score demonstrates how religious I truly am. Although I do not attend church on a regular basis, I still hold many Christian values and ideas.
My score was 11 out of 15. I scored higher than 73 percent of the public. I was not surprised because I have noticed that not many people know much about their own region, let alone other religions. I've noticed that many people, especially people my age are just the religion their parents are even if they don't completely agree with it. I guess i got a decent score just because I think other religions are interesting. I'm Christian but I like to know about the differences between Christianity and other religions.
My score was 13 out of 13. I found out that I scored higher than 93% of the overall public. I am not too surprised with my score because I went to a non-denominational/evangelical high school. I am surprised that the average of the evangelical protestants wasn't higher because witnessing is a high priority and to witness effectively, you need to know your audience. I wasn't too surprised that there was a correlation between education level and the average score. Overall, I'm not surprised with any of the other results.
My score was 5 out of 15. This did not surprise me at all. My family and I are not a religious family. We go to church one in a great while. We also don't study the bible regularly either. The website said that I scored higher than 19% of the population. This number sort of surprised me because I figured that most of the population didn't known much about religion. The website also stated that I scored lower than 70% of the population. This number surprised me for the same reason. Many of the people that I know and have met said that they don't go to church very often, just like me. Overall, this quiz did not surprise me at all.
I got 9 out of 15. I scored better than 62% of the public, which is surprising.I thought I would of done worse! Some were harder than others. I've been to church a few times and my mom has taught me about religion too. Some of the questions were easier than others because I have had friends of many different religions and they have told me what their beliefs and traditions are.
My score was 11 / 15. I was not surprised by my score in fact I was a little upset I did not do better. My senior year we had to take World Religions and due to that I knew a lot of the Hindu and Islamic answers. I believe that if I were to take this quiz at the end of my senior year I would have obtained a 15/15. I scored a 73% and was better than 80% of the population.
My score was 6 out of 15. It doesn't really surprise me that I got such a low score. If I actually payed attention to all the different religions my score could have been higher. The studies in the quiz give great knowledge on how little many people know. However, college grads were up there on the percent tile.
My score was 9 out of 15. I felt this was low. However, I scored higher than 62 percent of the rest of the population. Going through the different comparisons I see that I have a higher score than most. I scored lower than post-graduate student and lower than college graduates. This makes sense because those people are more educated than I am at the moment. I scored higher than those who say they attend worship services at least weekly. That was a big surprise. Also, I feel I am not that knowledgeable about trivia questions like that but scored pretty well. This goes to show that the amount of religious awareness and importance of religion is beginning to decline in the U.S.
